JC HARPO BLUES BAND
In Ticino, whoever says harmonica and blues voice, says JC Harp And that’s the least that can be said for the irrepressible Bellinzona native, who has been on the scene for a lifetime with his bands and as ‘guest’ to an impressive array of both local and even world-class musicians, such as BB King, Little Milton, Carey Bell, Louisiana Red and many others with whom Jean-Claude has had the honour and pleasure of playing! For more than twenty years, one of JC Harpo’s favourite ‘stage companions’ has undoubtedly been virtuoso guitarist and singer Paolo Fabris from Varese. A tandem that is, in short, very well-rehearsed and that will bring plenty of energy to the Grappoli stage – with the rhythm section entrusted to bassist Luca Zugnoni and drummer Denis Buzzetti.
THE OLD BLUESMEN
The second concert of this Sessa Blues Night – now in its seventh edition – will be signed by three other musicians… historians of the local blues scene: historians for reasons of age, yes, but historians above all by virtue of their long journey in this musical genre. On the Grappoli stage, the Bellinzona guitarist and harmonica player Bat Battiston, Lugano guitarist Max Dega and their Varese colleague and friend Angelo ‘Leadbelly’ Rossi will perform together. A simply extraordinary trio, a guarantee of passion and quality, joined by two other popular ‘old foxes’ of the blues at home, namely bassist Vanni Patriarca and drummer Robi Panzeri
